Oh my. 

Sometimes when I make a video for Instagram, I assume it will not get many views, but will help a few people who have recently asked related questions. Such was the case when I made the “Let’s Talk Food” video over on Instagram the other day. Never did I expect the onslaught of questions that would fill my DMs.

So let me start with this: in a perfect world, everyone would consult a board-certified veterinary nutritionist like Dr. Gaylord at Whole Pet Provisions. This is the gold standard for food decision making, as there is no higher degree obtainable and no more immersive nutrition-related education available. A BCVN goes through an intense residency. This is vastly different than a vet with nutrition certifications, and different still than a “regular” vet.

But that’s a perfect world and the world we live in is constrained by money and time. So what are the options?
