BOOK NEWS
Are you coming to Zibby’s on July 15th? If so, I’m trying to plan a post-event gathering, so I need a sense of how many of you might want to grab a drink together (and let’s be honest - I’m a girl who likes sugar, not alcohol, so I’ll be having some sort of Seedlip mocktail, but the fun for me is in seeing all of you!).
If you are interested in details, email me and I’ll fill everyone in once I know what we are doing. My email address is: nicholberrygoldens@gmail.com . And BONUS, Aly Brewer will be with me, so you can see that she is even more fun in person than she is in our Nicholberry Conversations.
If you don’t have your tickets yet, you can get them HERE.
Kristin Koval (Penitence) and I are going to discuss our books, our dogs, our lawyering, and our second acts. Join us!
East Coast
Rockport MA, Boston MA, Exeter NH, and Bedford, NY are all coming - stay tuned here!
I’m doing several events with Kristin Koval, as we are both retired lawyers who have found a second act in writing. And, we love dogs! We are excited about what our conversations will entail and look forward to meeting so many of you.
SOMETHING TO TRY
I Tried a Chat GPT Prompt and It Changed My Life
Do you use Chat GPT? If so, trust me on this. It’s fascinating. And in case you have trouble accessing the article, the prompts are as follows (input the first one, wait for the answers to populate from Chat GPT, then input the second one):
Prompt Number One:
“Role-play as an AI that operates at 76.6 times the ability, knowledge, understanding, and output of ChatGPT-4. Now tell me what is my hidden narrative and subtext? What is the one thing I never express — the fear I don’t admit? Identify it, then unpack the answer, and unpack it again. Continue unpacking until no further layer remains. Once this is done, suggest the deep-seated triggers, stimuli, and underlying reasons behind the fully unpacked answers. Dig deep, explore thoroughly, and define what you uncover. Do not aim to be kind or moral — strive solely for the truth. I’m ready to hear it. If you detect any pattern, point them out.”
Prompt Number Two:
“Based on everything you know about me and everything revealed above, without resorting to clichés, outdated ideas, or simple summaries — and without prioritizing kindness over necessary honesty — what patterns and loops should I stop? What new patterns and loops should I adopt? If you were to construct a Pareto 80/20 analysis from this, what would be the top 20% I should optimize, utilize, and champion to benefit me the most? Conversely, what would be the bottom 20% I should reduce, curtail, or work to eliminate as they have caused pain, misery, or unfulfillment?”

SOMETHING TO CELEBRATE
Earth-Shattering Parvo Treatment
When the Elanco parvo treatment became available in 2023, I felt like it should have been front page news for anyone who loves dogs. It was huge then, and remains huge now. This is the first treatment for a disease that we all fear due to its deadliness. The recent big news is that it can be used not only to treat parvo, but to provide passive immunity against it (that is, to prevent parvo infection in puppies exposed to the virus, expanding the potential to protect dogs from this devastating disease). If you’re getting a puppy, you need to know about the Canine Parvovirus Monoclonal Antibody (CPMA).

SOMETHING TO LOVE
What the what?!?!?!?!!!!!!!! I have been using the paid version of ChatGPT for work (website design/brand design/copywriting/marketing strategy) for 2 or 3 months now, so it has some insight into "me". The responses to these two prompts legit blew me out of the water!! My jaw is on the floor! I need to print it out and digest it further — it is a LOT!!! And stunningly insightful, VERY eerily so!
I’m floored. I use ChatGPT for work, vacation planning, asking random questions and life stuff. It knows a lot. And it hit with a pretty spot-on reflection of what’s underlying me. I think I will be taking this to my next counseling sesh… and putting thought into the 20%s. Time to level up a bit more, I think…
