THE NICHOLBERRY DISPATCH
BOOK NEWS
When Puppy Brain first launched, I was deeply honored that Ann Patchett (author of Tom Lake, The Dutch House, The Patron Saint of Liars, etc.) mentioned it on one of her Parnassus Books reviews.
Weeks later, when Ann mentioned that her new pup, Nemo, had officially settled in and that his puppyness was now emerging, I sent her a care package. To me, her comment indicated that there was probably a whole lot of landsharking going on. So I sent her my favorite food puzzle, along with instructions for filling it. I didn’t include my book and certainly didn’t expect her to mention either Puppy Brain or me on her book reviews again. But oh - such fun that she did! In case you missed it, you can see it here.
SOMETHING TO WATCH
I have never had so many people send me the link to a documentary. Even yesterday, I met with a local trainer and he asked if I’d seen this yet. While much of the content was familiar from previous rabbit hole spelunking, I was jaw-dropped by the connection between Snoopy and Canine Companions. I had no idea! If you know me, you know that I have always loved Snoopy. A giant Tom Everhart hangs in our puppy room, I still have my Snoopy from when I was five years old, and he graces many of my favorite t-shirts. Now I love him even more. Needless to say, this documentary is a must-watch and full of fascinating content. (And if you’ve already watched it, what’s an interesting fact you learned? Comment here…)
SOMETHING TO MAKE YOU SMILE
If you love music, and the piano in particular, this delightful one minute clip of Jon Batiste’s interview with CNN’s Chris Wallace will make you smile. It’s a mini master class on how music can cross genres.
SOMETHING TO CONSIDER

SOMETHING TO LOVE
I knew they have incredible noses/sense of smell but had never considered their sense of smell maybe more important than vision! And I had the honor of working with a Canine Companions dog in my work as a PT…so that part had me all in my feels! 💙
I watched the documentary last week and loved it. Neo and I are headed to Harvard’s science department to participate in some of the canine research. It was fun watching the movie and seeing folks from Harvard. I will let you know what this is like after.
