Book Club Sneak Peek
You won’t want to miss the next Puppy Brain Book Club, as we are going to give a sneak peek of the Gotcha Day video for Lucy’s litter and tell the name of each puppy! As always, we’ll have a great time discussing the developmental stages of puppies and answering your questions. Sign up for book club here and then I’ll send the Zoom link in a few days. (Book club will be December 21st at 10am PST).
SOMETHING TO DISCUSS
This is beyond fascinating. A genetic tissue sample is collected and then once the embryo is created, it is implanted into a surrogate mom, who then carries the pregnancy to term. I actually can’t stop thinking about it for Harper. She turns nine in March and I keep asking myself, if cost were not a consideration (it’s $50,000), would I do it? Would you?
SOMETHING TO MAKE YOU SMILE
I have never thought about where all of the mail addressed to Santa Claus ends up. This heartwarming article reveals that thousands of letters find their way to Nikolausdorf (Nicholas village) in Northern Germany. There, a dedicated team of volunteers answers the nearly 8,000 letters it receives each year, the envelopes bearing a special Nikolausdorf postmark. Stories like these are what make Christmas so magical.
SOMETHING TO CONSIDER
“I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.” - Charles Dickens
SOMETHING TO LOVE
While I love all my dogs, I would not clone. I feel that each dog born is a gift, an individual gift given to us. And messing with nature is something I want very little of.
I would spend a ridiculous amount of money to keep Harriet alive (and healthy) for another 12 years but I wouldn't clone her. There is and will always be just one Harriet.
