BOOK NEWS
I am back to waiting for books to arrive and planning events! The paperback releases on April 29th and we have just inked a launch party for that night at Revival 23 here in Clovis. By day, Revival 23 is one of my favorite boutiques. But at 6pm on April 29th, we are turning it into an incredible venue to discuss all things Puppy Brain. Plan on a lot of laughing, as I’ll be in conversation with Aly Brewer, my Nicholberry Conversations co-host, but also plan on bringing a tape roller. Because hello. It’s all about the dogs. For ticket details, please email me at nicholberrygoldens@gmail.com and put CLOVIS in the subject line.
If you have a venue that would be a great place for a Puppy Brain event (dog-friendly is a bonus), email me and let’s see what we can make happen! I’ve discovered that book events follow the “if you build it, they will come” principle, so it starts with an accommodating venue. I’m deeply grateful for all of the “come to our city” requests that I receive on Instagram, so I’m hoping to make a few of those happen.
SOMETHING TO READ
A genetics startup has created three pups that contain ancient DNA retrieved from the remains of the animal’s extinct ancestors. Romulus and Remus are the “first dire-wolf cubs in 12,000 years.” To make them, DNA was harvested from a tooth thought to be about 13,000 years old and a skull estimated to be more than 70,000 years old. In this article, D. T. Max, the first journalist to meet the wolves, writes about his trip to the front lines of deëxtinction (you can also see footage of them on the Instagram post about this story).
SOMETHING TO WATCH
Comedian Claims to be CEO of LinkedIn
Only a comedian would think, “wouldn’t it be funny to create a LinkedIn profile as the CEO of LinkedIn?” Chris Duffy explains what happened next and how he handled the call from LinkedIn’s security team. So funny.
SOMETHING TO CONSIDER
“A man should never be ashamed to own he has been wrong, which is but saying, that he is wiser today than he was yesterday.” - Alexander Pope
SOMETHING TO LOVE
Can’t wait for the paperback version to add to my collection & share with friends. Are you thinking of doing Boston again? Perhaps Hummingbird again? We would love to see you here again!
Saw the wolf cubs on TV last night -- very cute and interesting. Enjoyed the humorous LinkedIn act. And I can't forget the cute pups taking a break after reading a chapter about them!
