SOMETHING TO HOPE FOR
It seems too good to be true, but Loyal, a biotech company focused on extending healthy lifespan in dogs, has been in the spotlight after the FDA granted its senior-dog pill, LOY-002, a key regulatory milestone called “Reasonable Expectation of Effectiveness.” While this isn’t full approval yet, it signals that the FDA believes the treatment is likely to work in helping older dogs live longer, healthier lives. You can track their progress towards FDA approval HERE.
SOMETHING TO READ
Exactly how did they build those castles?
When you signed up for this newsletter, I promised unpredictable rabbit holes. Well, this one is a doozy. First, think about where you were in 1998 (I had just left Los Angeles and moved to Clovis to follow a boy, now my husband). Then consider that, since then, at Guédelon Castle in Burgundy, France, a team of masons, carpenters, blacksmiths, historians, and archaeologists has been building a 13th-century castle using only medieval tools and techniques. Their latest challenge: how to finish a Gothic-style chapel window carved nearly a decade ago. This ongoing experiment in “living archaeology” reveals not just how castles were built, but how knowledge itself is reconstructed through trial, error, and collaboration.
SOMETHING TO CONSIDER
“It is never too late to be what you might have been.”
