I’m so glad you agree that listening to audiobooks counts as reading! My favorite nonfiction was “Puppy Brain” and I did listen to it. It was read by the perfect person. Favorite fiction has to be “The Women” Kristen Hannah. Now on to 2025 reading! Have a Happy New Year!
I found the Malcolm Gladwell podcast so interesting, especially about how Harvard has the largest number of athletes and that's one of the top three ways to get into the school. Being a college counselor, this was fascinating to me! Adding James to my list for 2025. Thank you.
Hi Friends-- My favorite non-fiction book this year is The Bookshop by Evan Friss. I enjoyed his historical perspective on bookstores and book sellers both large and small. It is interesting, especially to those of us who love books.
In fiction, The Women by Kristin Hannah reminded me of the 70's.. Set against the backdrop of the conflict in Vietnam and the changing roles of women, this book followed one young woman's growth through life-changine experiences. (I'm currently reading James--perhaps a Nicholberry book club "special edition" discussion is in order for James? You know, after you recover from raising two big litters! Whew!)
I am 2/3 through this book and have found it to be a wonderful read. It’s incredible to look at any event even a fictional one through the eyes of a different character. In this case, it’s a character who was a slave, and we all should pay more attention to the way. These human beings were treated and what they had to do to survive. I’m also enjoying observing the friendship between Jim and Huck from Jim’s eyes.

Loved “The Women” too! Hope they make it into a movie!

His perspective on our entire college system is so interesting. You and I should have a virtual coffee chat when you finish James!
Yes, let’s do that!

One of the best books that I have read. The author takes you to places we knew about but probably haven't thought about for a while.

Mademoiselle - bio of Cocco Chanel.
I don't read fiction but love the suggested nonfiction. Thank you
