BOOK NEWS
I wrapped up my tour with a lovely dinner event in the Bay Area. Our family has some plans that make any events in June impossible and July difficult, but I’m hoping to resume the fun in August!
Big surprise: I have found that I particularly enjoy the conversation-based events, as it not only allows me to share some of the backstory on how Nicholberry and Puppy Brain came to be, but has been a wonderful setting for a robust Q&A. I have absolutely loved getting to talk with so many Instagram friends and Nicholberry families.
If we aren’t expecting puppies in August, I’m hoping to make it to the Sacramento area, Santa Barbara, and Nashville. Stay tuned!
SOMETHING TO LEARN
Sighting of Whale Thought to be Extinct in Atlantic
I love reading stories like this and imagining what this team of researchers must have felt when they first spotted this enormous whale feeding in the Atlantic (spoiler: this particular species of whale disappeared from the Atlantic over two hundred years ago).
SOMETHING TO READ
There is an excellent chart in this article detailing when and if desexing is recommended for 40 different breeds. If you aren’t already following Zazie Todd, her Substack is excellent and often contains helpful information like this.

SOMETHING TO LOVE
Very informative dispatch! Especially interesting data regarding spay and neutering. Loved the quote...we have a decorative sign in our kitchen that says, "Life takes you to unexpected places, Love brings you home"
Thank you for including the spay/neuter study link. Gave us some very valuable information My boxer is 12 yo and unfortunately this information didn’t exist when we made the decision to spay her. now we are paying the price as she fights to stay in clincal remission from mast cell tumors. At least we have a better understanding of how this happened
